Metis Family History:

Mauger, Major in Newfoundland is all I know of so far. Oh, and a shirt-tail (35th?) cousin named Walter Brown in NF also, although he might now be with our ancestors but if anyone knows him or is related to him he had compiled geneology of many generations back of at least the Major/Mauger lineage. There is a Thomas Major presently living in NF who is an author - I found his photograph once and it was the 'spitting image' of my granddad! I have spoken with him on telephone and my one sister wrote to him, but he has no interest in geneology and no information to give me about my/our roots.

StoryTelling:

I like to have fun as much as I can. I enjoy reading and writing when I get the time. I am interested in my geneology and helping others with theirs. I love my gardening. I love planting, raising, nurturing, harvesting almost everything. It keeps me where I need to be. I just wish we had more growing season because eight months of winter doesn't make this barefoot gal very happy when I have to be indoors for that long. I got my man into growing herbs and now he and his one son will never stop growing herbs. I'm very happy. My daughter also loves gardening many things and I am very happy about that too. I raised both my children with the love of gardening and storytelling. They each have their gifts.

I am interested in learning more about my heritage. Geneology has played a part in my life.
