About Me :

Dale and I keep ourselves very busy between trying to run a home-based family business, working in the Aboriginal Community in the Clearwater, BC area and getting the Michif Metis Museum up and running as well as travelling. We have 2 cats as part of our family, Echo and Shadow and have found homes for 7 out of 9 stray kitties. We look forward to and love attending and participating in Metis Gatherings and Rendezvous whenever we can get to them. We also do crafting and use the monies earned to travel with the Museum....

Metis Family History:

Big Dale has a chart for all to see....the Metis (his Mom's) side of his family migrated from Quebec, Northern Ontario to Red River, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, then to BC and has ancestry from France, Objibwa, Cree, etc. as well as Scottish/Norwegian from his Dad's side. Little Dale does not have a chart as of yet, but also on the Metis (Mom's side) has ancesters from France, Objibwa, Cree, and Algonquin, etc. migrated from Acadia, Quebec, Northern Ontario, Manitoba (not Red River), Saskatchewan to BC as well as Scottish/Swedish from Dad's side.

Louis Riel Day - November 16th

I guess a lot of us are preparing to honour Louis Riel on the day set aside for his memorial of November 16th.
